Originally cofounded by two students attending the University of Iowa College of Law in 2016 as Street Law, Justice101 is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization with a mission of teaching students, persons of color, and vulnerable populations their constitutional rights under the Fourth Amendment. Traditionally, in partnership with local attorneys, University of Iowa College of Law Black Law Student Association (BLSA) members presented in-person Street Law classes at area schools. Justice101 has begun teaching its 4th Amendment curriculum directly to law students — further enabling them to master the material and teach it directly to vulnerable populations throughout the United States.
Justice101 incorporated and achieved nonprofit status in 2020. The organization's vision moving forward includes expanding the reach, accessibility, and impact of its Street Law classes. The organization believes its core mission is vital to area vulnerable populations.
