Alex Lodge — Secretary, Co-FounderAlex is a Louisiana native, but he has made the Midwest his home. After finishing his degree in Chemistry at Grambling State University, Alex moved to Iowa to pursue a doctorate in Organic Chemistry. After finishing his doctorate, Alex pursued a law degree at the University of Iowa College of Law. Alex is currently IP Counsel with Cargill, Inc.
Alex enjoys music, family, friends, reading, and being engaged in the community. Alex is actively involved as a mentor with Big Brothers Big Sisters, the Kappa Alpha Psi Guide Right Program, and lead pro bono efforts related to conviction expungement and arrest record correction in the Greater Madison, Wisconsin area. Alex is a recipient of the State Bar of Wisconsin Pro Bono Attorney of the Year Award, Urban League of Greater Madison Rising Star Award, and Wisconsin Law Journal’s Up and Coming Lawyer Award. |
Crystal Pound — President & Treasurer, Co-FounderCrystal is a practicing attorney, business owner, and adjunct professor. Originally from Remer, Minnesota, she holds a Bachelor's degree in English and Mass Communications.
In 2016, Crystal graduated from the University of Iowa College of Law, receiving the Boyd Service Award and the Philip G. Hubbard Human Rights Award. With extensive legal experience spanning elder law, estate planning, trust and probate litigation, municipal law, transportation law, criminal law, business law, employment law, construction law, and commercial litigation, Crystal is a licensed attorney in Iowa, Minnesota, and North Dakota. Her commitment to legal education is evident through her role as an adjunct professor. Crystal's versatile legal career and dedication to the community make her a respected leader in the legal field, driving positive change. |
Brian Farrell — DirectorBrian is Associate Professor of Instruction at the University of Iowa College of Law where he teaches international law, criminal law, and human rights courses.
Dillon Besser — DirectorDillon is an attorney with RSH Legal in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. Dillon's practice focuses on representing injured workers from across the state of Iowa as he manages the firm's workers' compensation practice area. Prior to working at RSH Legal, Dillon had a broad litigation practice at Elderkin & Pirnie in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. There, he handled both state and federal criminal defense and general civil litigation cases through trial.
Originally from Topeka, Kansas, Dillon earned undergraduate degrees in Political Science and Business Administration while at William Jewell College in Liberty, Missouri, where he was also a two-year captain on the football team. After William Jewell, he graduated from the University of Iowa College of Law in 2016. Outside of work, Dillon enjoys spending time with his wife, toddler, and pets. |
Jessica McNamara — DirectorJessica is an associate attorney at Lederer Weston Craig, PLC in the firm’s West Des Moines office. Jessie practices civil litigation, with a focus on insurance defense, commercial litigation, and tort defense. She is licensed to practice law in Iowa and Illinois.
